Kathy is a Sole Practitioner and has had her own firm since 1995, located at 524 South Main St. As an architect Kathy has designed infill projects and historic restorations In Sebastopol such as
Kathy holds a Master of Architecture Degree from UCLA and a Master of Fine Arts Degree and Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Boston University. She has taught in numerous Community Colleges in Boston and California.
Sustainability
Kathy's career has been spent designing primarily green affordable housing for non-profit and private developers through out the North Bay Region. Kathy has taught classes on Sustainable Design and lectured across the country on Green Building. Kathy has authored numerous articles for Green Home Builder Magazine as well as the issue of Visitability (accessible for visiting by or living in by the handicapped) for Builder Developer Magazine. Kathy is a huge advocate for sustainable and healthy design and a member of the US Green Building Council. Her Habitat for Humanity homes have been designed to meet USGBC LEED Gold standard. Her design of the Solar Dragon helps defray the costs of pumping water for Sebastopol. All the homes she designs exceed California Energy Requirements by at least 20% and have water saving fixtures such as dual flush toilets.

Habitat for Humanity
Kathy donated the design of two Habitat Homes as part of the Litchfield Subdivision. It has been designed to meet the highest standards of green design. The project has been submitted for LEED Gold rating. LEED is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program by the US Green Building Council. She continues to volunteer on Habitat's Building Committee helping low income families into home of their own. Two local Sebastopol families will live in these homes pictured above.
